About French Bulldogs

French Bulldogs, or "Frenchies," are among the world's most popular small dog breeds, especially among city dwellers. They don't bark much, making them excellent apartment dogs. They're also patient with children and friendly with other pets, making them excellent family companions.

Despite their name, French Bulldogs were actually developed in England during the Industrial Revolution. English lace workers, displaced by machinery, moved to France and brought their small bulldogs with them. The breed's distinctive "bat ears" were perfected in Paris.

Frenchies are brachycephalic (flat-faced) dogs, which means they can have breathing problems and are very sensitive to heat. They're not good swimmers due to their heavy front structure, and extreme temperatures can be dangerous for them. However, their charming personality and minimal exercise needs make them ideal companions for many families.
