About Ragdolls

Ragdolls are named for their tendency to go limp and relaxed when picked up, much like a ragdoll toy. They're one of the largest domesticated cat breeds, with males typically weighing 15-20 pounds and females 10-15 pounds. Their most striking feature is their bright blue eyes and semi-long fur.

Developed in California in the 1960s by breeder Ann Baker, Ragdolls are a relatively new breed. They're known for their color-point patterns (darker colors on ears, face, legs, and tail) and come in several patterns including colorpoint, mitted, and bicolor.

These cats are renowned for their docile, gentle nature and love of human companionship. They're often described as "puppy-like" due to their tendency to follow their owners around and their generally calm, laid-back demeanor. Ragdolls are strictly indoor cats as their trusting nature makes them vulnerable outdoors.
